Our Partnerships

Our partnerships are central to our mission, and we build, nurture and sustain them with mutual respect, subsidiarity and trust. We collaborate and partner with individuals, institutions, communities, public and private entities, civil society  organizations, governments, academia, service providers, philanthropies and donors who share our values and identify with our mission  

We value our partnerships, and approach them for mutual advantage for GHAI and partner to collectively address the global health issues and advance national agenda and to achieve jointly-defined goals, strategies, and results through advocacy, capacity building, programming, and service delivery.

Our partnerships are built at local, national and global level;  formalized through Memorandum of Understanding, or informal agreements to collaborate for a common cause in a humanitarian context, informed by the following:

  • A mutual focus for common goal, strategies, and results contributing clear value to the achievement of the strategic priorities of our ‘Theory of Change’

  • Equity, integrity, independence, and accountability among all partners - in sharing contributions, benefits and risks in pursuing our objectives and activities

  • Stewardship, Prudence and Cost-effectiveness ensuring minimal administrative and financial costs, for greater effectiveness of programs

  • Trust, Transparency in all decision-making processes through transparent, participatory consultative process

  • The obligation for ethics and law in conducting our business

  • Subsidiarity and complementarity among partners building on our comparative strengths and advantages complementing each other’s competencies and contributions

  • National Governments through the National Ministries of Health, Ministries of Social Development, Gender and other relevant departments

  • District Health Management Teams

  • National and Private Universities in Lesotho and Malawi

  • Private health care providers and research organizations

  • Christian Health Associations in Lesotho and Malawi 

  • Individuals and entities - including State and non-State Actors 

  • Collaborative alliances with WHO Country Representatives, USG Missions, USG-Implementing partners
